There is something precious about Christmas: it gives us back a taste for slowness, the pleasure of being together without hurry. It is the same sense of time we live by in the vineyard all year long, as we wait for each grape to ripen at just the right moment, and for each harvest to carry with it the unrepeatable story of that land.

When a wish becomes presence
